He and the teacher came up with an idea that would allow students to learn more about the stock market and investing. He later went on to university and founded Investors of tomorrow. During your high school years is when you discover yourself and find out who you are. Wendy enjoyed family studies class because she could be creative with her hands. Food allowed her to express herself in a creative manner. She attended college and took culinary arts and worked in the field for awhile. She enjoyed the speed and the outcomes, but there was something missing. She wanted to help people and thought teacher's college would be a perfect fit. She was frustrated and overwhelmed at times, but got through it. Her advice to students is to take coop and talk with guidance teachers. Knowledge is power and the sky is the limit.

After dropping out of high school, Jonathan was faced with the tough decision about what to do with the rest of his life. While working in a restaurant he discovered his passion for food and the culinary industry, then entered an apprenticeship program to pursue this. Throughout high school Rob knew that though he got good grades, university was not for him. He enjoyed working with his hands, problem-solving and trying to understand how things work. Rob later realized that his decision to participate in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) instead of going to college or university was the best decision he ever made. Watching her father on the job, Tosha knew one day she would be a plumber. In high school she debated between the arts and trades and then decided plumbing was what she wanted to do. She credits co-op for changing her life. For her, being in the workplace has made all the difference.

Throughout high school, Andrea wasn't sure which career path she wanted to take and often felt estranged from friends with clear career goals. With such a gentle, kind and compassionate heart it's no wonder her co-op placement, at Sunrise Senior Living, turned out to be a perfect fit. Though Jessica has gained several years of hands-on experience in elder care, she plans to attend college and university to further her academic knowledge of gerontology.
