Aviarios del Caribe ~ Sloth Rescue Center in Limon, Costa Rica The sloth in this video was orphaned, and is now cared for by the good people at Aviarios del Caribe. For more information, visit www.ogphoto.com This footage was taken while on a country-wide excursion through costa rica. Regretfully, this is not my pet sloth and I have no involvement in its upbringing. I'm sure the experienced and knowledgeable staff at ADC will release it back into the wild when it is old and healthy enough to be able to survive on its own. 2006-08-30T06:03:15.000Z

The Asociación Panamericana para la Conservación (APPC), a non-profit organization in Panama rescued this sloth at a construction site at the (former) Howard Air Force Base in Panama. After being measured and weighed (for scientific purposes) and checked over, he was released into a protected forest. Two-toed sloths, like this one here, are very difficult to rescue because they are usually very aggressive and will use their razor-sharp claws and sharp teeth in defense. Three-toed sloths however are very docile and easy to rescue. Only individuals who have been trained to rescue two-toed sloths should attempt to rescue them because they can be very dangerous. The APPC is currently working along side construction crews in areas that are being deforested to rescue wildlife as the trees fall. Each animal that is rescued (from small frogs and lizards to monkeys, sloths, and ocelots) is checked over and if healthy and uninjured are taken to protected forests and released. For more information about the APPC please visit them on the web at: www.panamericancon.org This video was produced by the Institute for Neotropical Conservation www.neotropics.org 2009-03-12T21:13:56.000Z

We took a trip in search of sloths with our guide Charles. The Spanish word for sloth is "perezoso" which literally means lazy. They also call them "Osos perezosos" which means lazy bears. You won't see any sloths in this video, but you'll get an idea of what being in the rainforest is like during the rainy season. The area that we're rowing in is normally dry ground :). 2007-05-30T19:56:01.000Z

Date: November 10, 2007/Cahuita, Costa Rica While staying at the Sloth Rescue center, Jeffery, grandson of Luis and Judy Arroyo (founders of Aviario del Caribe) and I agreed that the name sloth misrepresents these amazing creatures. We came up with a new common name: acrobor (arboreal acrobats). The scientific name for the two fingered acrobors is Choloepus hoffmanni and for the three fingered sloths Bradypus variegates. There are six different species of sloths, but only the aforementioned are present in Costa Rica. 2007-11-19T00:31:19.000Z

***************Swine flu shot or seasonal shot, its the same thing, both have the same chemicals, mercury, diseases. A girl got a flu shot and ended up with a disease that crippled her and is unable to walk forward nor is she able to talk. Refuse any shots, no matter what they say. 2009-10-23T19:32:04.000Z

Taken on the Amazon River in Brasil of 3 different sloths. We're in a motor launch, and keeping the camera steady was impossible. The higher-pitched male voice you hear is of Moraes, a local guide, who tells a joke about how long it takes a sloth to get down from a tree--one year. 2008-03-13T17:05:18.000Z
